Fastnet Rock

130.00440.00

Situated 13km off the coast of West Cork Fastnet Rock is the most iconic of Irish Lighthouses. Commissioned in 1904, it was built with 2,074 dovetailed granite blocks which were prepared in Cornwall. The construction of the tower, which rises 54m, was an outstanding engineering achievement in extreme conditions. It is also known as Ireland’s Teardrop as it was the last sighting of Ireland by emigrants headed for the New World.
